On Wednesday afternoons, Biblixi turns the library into a creative meeting place for children. Stories, crafts, and games invite them to discover and explore — in German and other languages, with plenty of room for imagination.

Ready to Read fosters a love of language, stories and books from the very beginning. The programme helps families support their children’s language development and gives everyone early access to the world of books.
Documents can be printed and scanned at the library. Public PCs with headphones are available for internet access. Reading glasses can be borrowed on site. Our team is happy to help with any technical questions.

The library provides spaces for studying, reading and working. Wi-Fi and power outlets are available. Different areas provide space to relax, exchange ideas or work independently.
The Reading Tandem supports children in grades 2 and 3 in developing their reading and speaking skills. Once a week, they meet with a reading mentor at the city library to read, play games, solve puzzles and talk together. This free programme strengthens language skills, enjoyment of reading and self-confidence.

With authorised access, you can use the library outside staffed opening hours. You can borrow and return items independently. Study and seating areas are also available. This makes it easy to fit library visits into your everyday routine.
The post office counter offers essential postal services on site: sending and collecting letters and parcels, buying stamps, paying QR-invoices and withdrawing up to CHF 500.– in cash.

We support school classes in developing reading and media literacy skills. Library visits, guided tours, storytime sessions, author readings and other activities promote reading and can be tailored to the grade level and curriculum.

At the language meetup, German is spoken in a relaxed atmosphere. Participants talk about everyday topics and expand their vocabulary together. No previous knowledge or registration is required.
Rent library rooms for meetings, events and special occasions. The event room seats up to 50 people; outside opening hours, the main library hall can accommodate up to 100.
